Meet the Curator
Jan Taylor, a former special education teacher in nearby Paris, Kentucky, has been collecting dolls for over a decade. Her collection began with a 1920's composition doll with tin eyes. Over the years her personal collection outgrew her home, giving inspiration for the new museum. She now oversees a growing collection of antique and vintage dolls and toys
Jan is a member of the Little Colonels Doll Club of Kentucky and attended the 2007 and 2009 United Federation of Doll Clubs' national conventions in Detroit and Atlanta.
As a teacher, she was always looking for new opportunities to use dolls and toys while teaching literature and social skills to her students.
An avid seamstress and cloth doll maker, Jan is excited about developing skills in repair and restoration. The museum currently offers repair services onsite as well as referals for extensive repairs.
